Global Winner of the James Dyson Award!

It is difficult to describe what the James Dyson Award represents for an Industrial Design student. It is not just a competition — it is the competition. Or at least, that is how I have always seen it.
From the moment I discovered what design was, I knew it was going to be my path. No hesitation, no Plan B. It simply felt like discovering something that brought together everything I had always dreamed of, but had never known how to name.
It felt like such a big dream that, for a while, I even thought it might be too big for me. The reality is that if I had cared less, I probably would not have spent so much time sabotaging myself.
Then, at some point, I decided to put myself out there again, in an international environment, completely outside my comfort zone. When the Dyson Award happened, it meant something enormous to me. All those years of work had been seen and recognised. Taking that risk, challenging myself again, and working so hard had paid off. It felt like a circle closing.
Dyson is not just a company. Its products embody a drive to push boundaries, invest in research, and truly believe in R&D.
Meeting James Dyson was an incredible honour. Without a doubt, he has always been an icon to me.
And so, when James Dyson himself told me that I was the Global Winner, I could barely hold back my tears. My determination to fight for this project and for the cause behind it had been recognised.
But there was much more behind that moment: what he represented to me, and what this award had represented to me over the years.
James Dyson believes in young people, and through this award, he does so in a concrete and meaningful way.
And then, nothing could have prepared me for what came next.
Interviews, phone calls, article after article, emails, television programmes, news broadcasts, WhatsApp messages. An overwhelming amount of visibility, and so many people wanting to connect, talk, understand, create, thank me, ask questions, and congratulate me.
Wow. It was chaotically incredible.
Suddenly, OnCue was under the spotlight. I was very aware that moments like this are rare and precious.
